Technical Questions

Question: I have forgotten my Windows password. How do I get in?

Answer:
Assuming you have physical access to the machine, you can boot from a floppy or a bootable CD to reset the password.

  1. Prepare a bootable floppy or bootable CD. The bootable floppy or bootable CD contains things needed to edit the passwords on most systems. If you don't want to prepare a bootable disk yourself, you can order a ready-to-use bootable CD on our BUY NOW page.

  2. Boot from the floppy, USB drive or CD/DVD-ROM and follow the instructions on the screen.

  3. You may scan a logical drive or all logical drives for MS SAM database. When SAM database is detected you will have access to the users' accounts information. After you select a specific user account you can see the account information and clear the user's password. Other Windows login security restrictions like 'Account is disabled', 'Password never expires', 'Account is locked out', 'User Must Change Password at Next Logon' and 'Logon Hours' can be changed or reset.
